One potato, two potato, three potato,
This movie definitely depicts the realities of deer camp.Jeff Daniels couldn't have gotten it better. Anyone in Wisconsin, Minnesota or Michigan knows that every deer camp has its superstitions, rituals and stories of the big bucks that got away. Remember, what happens in deer camp, stays in deer camp.

Cripes, I grew up in da Central part 'a WisCaaaaansin, an' can tell yous gice dat Up Nort, and in Da Yoop, we really do talk like dat, den. Well, if yer a Native, anyway, and not some transplant from Da Mitten or IlliNoise, or a goshdern Mud Duck from Da Cities 'er sumpin.

Dis movie pretty much says it all, when it comes to life on Da Big Lake. Huntin', a little moonshinin', UFO's, Da Tribes and dey's customs, da whole shootin' match, ay.

I haven't read the book, having ordered it today, but have bought two copies of the movie.One for my wife and I, and another to give out.I may have moved here from the South, but I grew up in the MidWest and went to 'deer camp' in Pennsylvania with my Dad's family.Now that I live in MI and am married to a lifelong resident, I have to go to the UP soon.We may even retire there in a few years.This was the funniest movie we've seen in years.Hey!We bought TWO copies, AFTER seeing it in the theater!That should say it all, right there.We've never done that before, and never again, likely.A must see for all deer hunters, deer widows and Michiganders.We laughed until we cried.Our stomaches were starting to hurt.

Saw the movie but have not read the book
I just saw this movie and my husband and I loved it.My son also really likes this movie.Maybe the lady in KS should visit Escanaba.I am from Northern Wisconsin and can see where the movie merges with reality for yuppers.I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes hunting and is perfect for a hunting camp.

Good Detail, Good Info
I appreciated the detail this book went into on the mechanical and engineering side of the car. It was nice to see the transparent engine and drivetrain photos. Most of the books are alot of pretty pictures, I've seen enough of those.

The selection of candidates, including the president, and all elections would be conducted over the voting networks.Our representative managers would be required to truthfully and fully inform us sufficiently to make informed decisions.We would decide all matters of taxation, education and public policy with two-thirds super-majority votes, including amendments to the Constitution.We would not be required to micro-manage government.

All elected officials would be subject to periodic confirmation by majority vote, and subject to recall at any time.

With direct democracy we can reclaim government, education and a divided society with common sense, mutual understanding and cooperation.Indeed, we need to move from the cynical divisions of America versus the United States, to the unity of the United States of America.That's what direct democracy is all about. ...
